Meet the Summit Press Authors

Jun 12, 2024 | Books, Publishing, Writing

We’re really proud of our authors, what they’ve accomplished, even before they decided to write a book.

Take Bryn Lottig for example.

Bryn is the co-founder of Kikori, an app for educators that aligns experiential education activities with teaching and social-emotional standards. Bryn is a sought-after expert in experiential education and an Adventure Program Coordinator at Arbor Vitae-Woodruff, an Expeditionary Learning school. She received her master’s degree in Adventure Based Experiential Education from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Although she has over a decade of experience working with youth, she really refined her facilitation skills by working in the Leadership Program at Camp Manito-Wish YMCA for the last 12 years. She lives with her husband and two children in Northern Wisconsin. To learn more about her, you can visit her at www.brynlottig.com

Impressive, right?

Bryn is the author of No Child Left Inside: Transforming the Next Generation Through Experiential Learning

Here’s how we describe it…

Learning through experience within an outdoor community provides an opportunity for the next generation to figure out who they are, separate and apart from the noise. Within an intentional, safe environment, even the most alienated kids can develop social, emotional, and communication skills that will amplify their connectedness and independence. When kids recognize that they can do hard things, provide value to the group, and rely on others, the course of their lives can change.

Written for educators, parents, and leaders, No Child Left Inside: Transforming the Next Generation Through Experiential Learning will show you how to create experiences for kids so they can drill skills and safely explore personal strengths, as well as limitations. By providing a space where kids can celebrate and transcend their differences, you can help them learn how to communicate honestly, deeply connect with those around them, and foster empathy, commitment, and accountability within the community. When you facilitate activities that prove to kids that they’re capable of great things and figuring out a challenge as a team, you help instill within them greater confidence and agency.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Bryn and discuss the writing and publishing process, and what she hopes to accomplish with her book. You might want to listen in.

We’re expecting great things for Bryn and No Child Left Inside: Transforming the Next Generation Through Experiential Learning. Watch this space for more.

And if you’d like to be Summit Press Publishers’ next author, you can apply to work with us right here.
